The sauce ingredients:
- Jack Daniels, 1⁄2 cup
- 1 small onion, diced
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1⁄2 cup whiskey, Jack Daniels
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1⁄4 cup vinegar
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1⁄4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1⁄3 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons of liquid smoke
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
Cooking the sauce:
- In a medium saucepan, combine onion, garlic, and whiskey. Simmer over medium heat for about 7 minutes or until the onion is translucent.
- Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Blend it all into a sauce and leave overnight in the fridge to settle, or just use it right away, it’s your call.
Grillign the steak:
- Unpack and let rest
- Serrate the meat
- Season as you like, I just used salt on this cook
- Heat up the grill to medium-high and cook for 3 minutes each side.
- Baste in the BBQ sauce
- Sear on high for 30 secs each side and enjoy.
