Ingredients:

Marinade:
80 ml extra virgin olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
30 ml red wine vinegar
80 ml soy sauce
60 ml honey
1/2 tsp black pepper, freshly ground

Steak:
1.2 - 1.4 kg flank steak
Coarse salt, to taste (optional)
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste (optional)

Instructions:

Marinate the Steak:

Mix the marinade ingredients in a large non-reactive bowl.

Place the flank steak in the bowl, coat it well, cover, and refrigerate for 2 to 24 hours.

Prepare the Grill:

Preheat your grill to high heat (230°C) with an indirect heat section.

Grill the Steak:

Remove steak from marinade and let excess drip off.

Season with salt and pepper if desired.

Sear on the hot side of the grill for 1-2 minutes per side.

Move to cooler side, cover, and cook to preferred doneness (49-52°C for rare, 54-60°C for medium rare).

Rest and Slice:

Let steak rest under foil for 10-15 minutes.

Slice thinly against the grain at a steep angle.

Cooking Tips:

Prepared this way—marinated, cooked quickly at high heat, and thinly sliced—flank steak practically melts in your mouth. If you don't have a grill, use a cast iron frying pan for similar results.
